Day 3 at Home: Soul Searching
The key is figuring out where.
Pray or meditate everyday to ask God for clarity and strength.
Two Prayers from Ivanla Vanzant :
I Just Don’t Know What to Do Prayer
Dear God,
Please order my thought today. Place in my mnd those things that are a priority to You. Those things that will establish divine order in this life You have given me. Take away the thoughts, habits, attitudes which create fear and keep me from being in alignment with Your will. Help me to see things through Your eyes, according to Your law. Take away every thought, want unconscious and conscious urge that can place me on the treadmill of pain and confusion. Fill my mind with Your will, Your way, Your desire for me today. Help me to see all things from a divine perspective today, a perspective of love, peace and joy. And then Lord, guide me to act accordingly. Thank You, God.
Help Prayer
Dear God,
Into the temple of Your peace I enter to meet You: to share sacred moments in Your presence. In the sanctuary of Your presence I find the peace which heals, which strengthens; the peace which surpasses understanding. Into the womb of Your love, Dear God, I enter, so that You might nourish, protect and embrace me, for I am Your child. In the shrine of Your abundance I rest my head, wash my hands, cover myself so that You may provide for me all that I need to glorify all that You are.
Into Your home, Dear God, I come once again, to be fed and to rest from the noise of the world. For it is in the sanctuary of Your temple, my heart, that I find Your and love You, and understand how much You love me.
Thank You, God

Day 2 at Home: New Day, New Routine?
You need to set up a routine. But how new?
Some activities that should be the same:
- Wake up, eat meals, and go to bed at the same time you did when working.
- Incorporate the same job working activities for example shower and dress for work every morning.
- The work day is 8 hours. The job hunting day should be no more than 8 hours.
- Have an office to go to. This could be at the library or a place in your home.
- No work at night or on the weekends.
Some activites that may be different:
- Pray by going to place of worship for services during the week.
- Exercise.
- Eat right.
- Get plenty of sleep.
You are doing great! I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Day 3 at Home: Soul Searching
Day 1 at Home: The Pity Party for One
The First day at home comes fast. And when it arrives you will feel many different emotions.
My suggestion is to give no more than one day to your personal pity party without alcohol or drugs.
The healing process from this loss will take time. And it is OK to take brief no more than five minute parties along the way.
If you spend too much energy dwelling on it the following will happen:
- Energy will not be spent on job hunting or pursuing a career change.
- You will overtax you support group. They are saints to listen to it the first 10 times.
- You will start to define yourself by it. You are more than a job loss.
- Other people will start to define you by it. Every time some sees you they will only ask about the job situation.
